As Pastor it is my great pleasure to invite you to join us every Sunday morning where you will be encouraged to grow in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church is a unique and loving fellowship that has something for everyone. Our focus is to minister to the whole family in the body of Christ with a heart to reach the lost and broken-hearted with the Gospel, while cultivating a deeper relationship with Jesus through service in a variety of ministries. We believe that serving the Lord and winning souls is not only our obligation, but also our sacred devotion and personal joy. Please take some time to explore our web page to see the exciting life changing opportunities that await you here at First Baptist Church remembering the words of the apostle Paul:
"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world: Holding forth the word of life: that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy and rejoice with you all. For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me"-Philippians 2:13-18.

She is a member of the American Guild of Organists and in 2010 completed a rigorous 2 year ecumenical music program called, The Leadership Program for Musicians. Office Manager/Youth Leader
I am the Office Manager and Youth Leader here at First Baptist Church. It is an honor to be here and be able to work for God every day. I started going to church with my best friend and her family when I was 11 years old. I became a Christian at the age of 13 and shortly after followed in believers Baptism. From there I started living with God in my life. I have worked as a puppeteer and with the youth, and have been to Mexico and Canada on missions trips. My husband David became a Christian 14 years ago and I was able to watch him follow in believers baptism shortly thereafter. David works in Newport News at Leibherr. David has a son named Acie who is 25 years old and works at the shipyard in Newport News, and his Daughter Courtney who is 20 years lives in Colorado and works at an Art Studio. We also together have a son named Carson who is 13 years old and is a Sixth grader. He graduated out of Troop 340 as a Weblo 2 Cub Scout, and started playing his favorite sport, football. David and I had been praying for a new church home and we know God brought us and our family to First Baptist and we are grateful for the opportunity to be here.
Youth Leader Intern
Daniel Naff grew up in a Christian home that prioritized church and the youth group specifically. His father was actively involved in the youth and instilled a love for youth and student ministry in Daniel. Daniel and his wife Laurie are high school sweethearts and have been married for 11 years. They have 3 active boys, Luke 7, Liam 4, Landry 1, and baby number 4 is on the way...a daughter who will be named Lilah. They are originally from Carroll County, Virginia. Daniel enlisted in the Navy right out of high school in 2005, he has been stationed in the Hampton Roads area ever since. Daniel is currently stationed on board the USS Gerald R. Ford based in Norfolk. In 2013 they moved to a home in Gloucester and started attending Petsworth Baptist Church. After faithfully serving there and growing in their relationship with Christ and an amazing church family, God called Daniel into ministry to become a Youth Pastor. He has been leading under an outstanding Youth Pastor at Petsworth that continues to teach and guide Daniel in his calling in life. Daniel is a passionate VA Tech Hokies football fan and enjoys woodworking when not being kept busy with his kids on the soccer field. The Naff’s are excited to become part of the West Point family and look forward to seeing what God is going to do here.
